Stars in the Spotlight
Congratulations this month go to five year old Alana.
Alana has just passed her Primary Classical Ballet exam achieving 90 points out of a possible 100.
She also achieved Distinction for her Bronze Medal Classical Ballet, the youngest student from the school to take a part in the medal tests this year.
Alana has been taking classes for just over a year and has a very natural dance style. She has a beautiful turn out, pretty port de bras and well stretched feet.
This year Alana performed her ballet solo in the school's production to a rapturous applause.
Well done, Alana, we love watching you perform.
Congratulations this month go to 4 year old Brooke who is in her second term of classes with the school.
Brooke, who will soon turn 5, takes classes in Modern Jazz, Lyrical, Tap and Acrobatics. She is the youngest dancer in her class but that does not faze her. She always brings her smile with her and works hard all through the class, even when its really hard.
She is our star this month because she was the only dancer in her class who remembered all the steps for the groups new modern jazz dance. The dance requires fast movement of arms and legs in a coordinated sequence and Brooke performed it with lots of energy and enthusiasm.
Her teacher Michelle gave her a huge Hi 5 at the end.
Brooke says the dance "Raining Sunshine" is her favourite. Watch out for it in our performance in July.
Well done Brooke, keep up the good work.
